Arcadian Surf Life Saving Club is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1928 to protect the community by patrolling the beaches of Townsville and Alma Bay, Magnetic Island.  We also teach the next generation surf safety and sport with our fun Nippers program for ages five to 14 years.

Our Nippers program is on Saturdays from September to February each year and there are sessions on both the Island and Mainland.

Each age group learns vital skills such as being safe in the surf and what to do in an emergency.  The older children also start learning the basics of surf rescues utilising the boards.  Nippers is the perfect combination of sport, fun and learning skills for life.
